How often do we hear from our friends or those around us that they don't have a creative bone in their body? How often do we say that ourselves? If you're anything like me, you probably hear that more often than not. I know I feel that way constantly...and I'm going in to a typically "creative" work field. But, in my opinion, someone saying they aren't creative is like someone saying they don't know how to breath.
I believe we reflect what we see. What we experience. What we know. How can we have no creativity when the world we live in is so creative in and of itself. Just think about any aspect of life or nature in general. We live in a world filled with creativity. And we absorb that creativity on a daily basis. Music. Art. Technology. These all exude creativity.
So what if you aren't in any of those fields. That doesn't mean you aren't creative. Every job requires some sort of creativity. Handling finances requires creativity in how they manage and gain money. Any sort of sales position requires creativity in how they sell their product. Even the medical field requires creativity in how they solve problems and discover needs. But lets get down to the individual.
You are uniquely creative in ways you may not realize. And some of the best ways to unlock that creativity is through experiencing the moments you live in. Every moment is an opportunity to experience creativity, but often we don't see it because we don't slow down enough to experience it.
What would happen if we just took 5 minutes to ourselves. If we sat on a park bench. If we listened to music and only that. If we spent time in a coffee shop by ourselves with no distractions. Would we be able to see that creativity in ourselves if we are allowed to experience the what's going on around us. Can we sit long enough to absorb the world we live in and reflect it's creativity? I don't know. That's up to you to find out, but I want to challenge you to sit for just 5 minutes and experience what's around you for once. Because creativity is hidden inside of you and it's waiting to be experienced.
